Can I configure a custom backup location for my data?
By default, Accomplice makes backups in your Accomplice application data directory. If you are running Accomplice from your PC, this directory is located on your local computer. If you are running Accomplice from a U3 drive, however, this directrory is located on the U3 drive itself.
This means that if you lose your U3 drive, you will also lose all your Accomplice data. In order to prevent complete data loss, we reccommend that U3 users configure a custom backup location on a computer that you usually have access to, just in case anything happens.
To setup a custom backup location, first...
Create a new folder somewhere on your computer for the backups to be stored (for example, C:\Accomplice Backups).
Next, run Accomplice and open up your preferences by clicking Tools > Preferences. Click on the "Automatic Actions" folder from the list on the left.

Next, select "Custom Location" under Backup Directory, and then click the "Browse" button.
When the window with all of your folders pops up, navigate to your new Backup folder (C:\Accomplice Backups, if that's what you named it), and click "OK." Click "OK" again to save your new preferences.
Now whenever Accomplice does a backup, it will be placed in that folder on that computer. So if you ever lose your U3 drive, you'll be able to restore your data from your most recent backup, leaving you significantly better off!
