Outline mode and List mode
There are two basic "views" for your Accomplice activities: Outline view and List view.
Outline
Outline is the default view. In Outline view, your activities are displayed in hierarchies, or activity trees: subtasks are indented below parent activities, and activity hierarchies can be "collapsed" or "expanded" by clicking on the small +/- box to the left of any activity that contains sub-activities. This allows you to easily identify related tasks and multi-step projects.

To go to an Outline view of your activities, click on the Outline button on the right side of your Activity Toolbar.

Sometimes, when you are filtering your activities to view specific activities, you may notice that some of your activities are greyed out. This is because these activities do not meet the criteria designated by your activity filter, yet some or all of their subtasks do. For example, if you have applied an activity filter that shows only activities that are "active," but you have several parent activities that are marked as "pending," those "pending" activities will be greyed out, while the "active" sub-activities will be displayed in full color. This helps you to focus directly on the activities you want to see, without being distracted by other activities.

List
The alternative to the "Outline" view is "List" view, which removes the indentation to form an activity list. You can still view your sub-activities in list view, but they will no longer be indented to reveal their relations to other activities.

To switch to list view, click on the "List" button on the right side of your Activity Toolbar.

List view is particularly helpful for sorting your activities. To sort your activities by a given setting, just click on the appropriate column heading. Your activities will be put into list mode and ordered by whichever column you have chosen (importance, on my plate, etc). All columns containing text (description, next steps, and category) are sorted alphabetically.
In the example below, the activities have been sorted by importance
