Preferences: Email and Calendar

Here you can configure everything related to your email and calendar integration.

EMAIL

First, you should decide whether or not you would like Accomplice to integrate with your email. To do this, click "Show my emails in the dashboard" on or off.

Next, choose which email client you would like to integrate with Accomplice. Accomplice currently integrates with Outlook 2003, Outlook XP, Outlook 2000, Outlook Express, Thunderbird, and Eudora. If you have multiple email profiles configured for any of your email clients, you can specify which profile you would like to use in Accomplice here.

If you would like to have Accomplice automatically access your email client to load your emails when you start Accomplice, turn the "Load my emails as soon as I start Accomplice" preference on. If this preference is turned off, your emails will not be loaded until you open the email viewlet in Accomplice.

You can also decide whether or not you would like tooltips to appear when you hold your mouse over emails in the Accomplice viewlet. These tooltips contain the body of the email, and allow you to read the contents of your emails without actually having to open them!
NOTE: If you are using Thunderbird and you experience persistent pop-ups asking you for your email password, we recommend you turn this preference off. Thunderbird requires all programs accessing emails to verify the user's name and password, which means that every time Accomplice attempts to display an email tooltip, you will have to login to Thunderbird.

CALENDAR

As with your email, you should also decide whether you would like Accomplice to show your Calendar in the dashboard or not. Note that you can only view your calendar in Accomplice if you are using an email client that has a calendar. Currently this includes Outlook 2003, Outlook XP, and Outlook 2000. Outlook Express, Eudora, and Thunderbird do not have calendar systems, so if you integrate your email with any of those clients, you will not be able to view a calendar in Accomplice.

If you have turned the calendar integration on, you can decide whether you would like Accomplice to load your appointments as soon as you start Accomplice. As with your emails, if you turn this preference off, your appointments will be loaded whenever you open the Calendar viewlet.

DRAG AND DROP

Accomplice allows you to easily turn emails into activities through simply drag and drop. Just drag the email from your viewlet to your activities list and drop it wherever you'd like -- a new Accomplice activity will be created with the email's subject line listed as the activity's description.

You can also have Accomplice automatically share these emails-turned-activities. Set your preference to automatically share the new activity with the email's sender and other recipients as an owner or a regular team member.  The next time you turn an email into an activity, Accomplice will search through your Accomplice contacts and share the new activity with any Accomplice users who received the email.
